How to Enjoy: In a Love at First Sight or Birch Julep

On October 22nd. 1910, a fire on the bottling line halted production of Old Forester. Mature whisky ready to be bottled, instead was stored in a secondary barrel. What emerged was a delightful whisky, remarkable enough to become an entirely new expressions – Old Fine Whisky.

Today mimicking this historic bottling, this unique expression of Old Forester has undergone a second barreling. Entering the second barrel at a low 100 proof allows more of the sweet wood sugars to dissolve into the whiskey.

Love at First Sight

1 OZ Bourbon

1 OZ Lemon juice

1/4 OZ Simple syrup

1/2 OZ Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

5 Raspberries

Cava or Prosecco (Dry)

In a shaker tin, muddle raspberries with simple syrup. Add lemon juice, bourbon, Luxardo, and ice. Shake for 30 seconds, double strain into a coupe glass.

Top with Sparkling Wine.

Garnish with a skewered raspberry and mint leaf.

Birch Julep

2 OZ Whiskey

3/4 OZ Birch Syrup

1 Dash Cinnamon Bitters

8 Mint Leaves

Candied Lemons

Combine ingredients in mixing glass. Muddle leaves. Strain liquid over crushed ice. Swizzle (stir) with a bar spoon for 20 seconds. Garnish with mint and candied lemon.
